TRAINING DEPARTAMENT IN INSURANCE ASSOCIATION OF KOSOVA

Training department at Insurance Association of Kosova – IAK, is functioning since the founding of the Association in the year 2002.

This department is engaged with the organizing and holding of the trainings and different seminars and workshops for the staff of the Insurance Companies which are licensed to operate in Kosova.

In the beginning this department started with the training of the Insurance Companies agents, who should have been licensed in order to work with Insurance Company, an activity which continues in present.

Later training department continued with the organizing of the trainings and seminars for technical staff of Insurance Companies, like Claims Department, Underwriting Department, Marketing Department, Finance Department, Actuary, etc.

During these years of its activities, Insurance Association of Kosova, respectively training department has organized more than 20 different trainings and seminars for the staff of the Insurance Companies, in the insurance fields mentioned above, not including trainings organized for the agents who have applied to be licensed as insurance agents of an Insurance Company. Insurance Association of Kosova, respectively training department during its activity in those years, and during organizing and holding of the trainings and seminars, have had a very successful cooperation with the most recognized insurance institutions which are engaged in the insurance field, specially on the insurance training, with the aim of increasing the human recourses and education of the persons in the field of insurance for the Kosova market.

Institutions with which Association has a very close cooperation in the insurance and insurance training field are as follows:

Malta International Training Center – MITC, with its headquarters in Malta
Chartered Insurance Institution – CII, with its headquarters in London
Financial Services Voluntary Corps – FSVC, with its headquarters in USA
Willis Re, with its headquarters in London, etc.

Trainings which were organized from Insurance Association of Kosova for the Insurance Market of Kosova, includes topics which mainly has to do with the insurance field, as follows:

Finances and Accounting in Insurance
Insurance Principles
Insurance Market and Legislation
Insurance Underwriting
Claims Handling in Insurance Companies
Voluntary Insurance products, (including: fire insurance, motor comprehensive insurance, property insurance, money insurance, personal accidents insurance, health insurance, transport insurance, construction all risks insurance, etc.).
Selling and marketing
Risk management
Reinsurance
Onternational Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), with a stress in insurance
Insurance supervision from relevant authorities
Actuaries in insurance, etc.

Association in continuance organizes such trainings, regarding the topics mentioned above, bur also for other topics which are connected directly or indirectly with the Insurance field, for the Kosova Insurance Market, and the staff of the Insurance Companies, which are licensed to operate in Kosova.

Insurance Association of Kosova, and its training department also has a very close cooperation with the Insurance Association of Albania, and other Organizations and Institutions which work in the field of Insurance.
